Pediatric hematology

My work is mainly clinical care, without letting research fall by the wayside: characterizing bone marrow failure syndromes at the molecular level and turning that into concrete clinical decisions for pediatric patients.

Research lines

Inherited and acquired bone marrow failure

Fanconi anemia, Diamond-Blackfan anemia and other bone marrow failure syndromes: molecular characterization, clonal evolution, gene therapy, drug repurposing and transplant outcomes.

Pediatric hematology

Immune cytopenias and red cell membrane disorders.

Apheresis and cell therapy

Cell therapies for the treatment of pediatric blood disorders.

Molecular biology and single-cell RNA sequencing

Single-cell sequencing to understand what happens in the bone marrow at the level of individual cell populations in bone marrow failure, with a translational focus.
